Dr. Chelsea Lyn Tucker is a Research Engineer at Dow, where she works on catalytic technology development to support advanced recycling and circularity in the plastics value chain. Her expertise includes syngas conversion (Fischer-Tropsch and methanol synthesis), hydroprocessing, and catalytic pyrolysis, grounded in catalysis and process design.
Before joining Dow, Chelsea was a Research Fellow at the University of Groningen, where she taught reactor engineering, process control, and bio-based product design. Her research at the Green Chemical Reaction Engineering Group (ENTEG) focused on developing iron and cobalt-based catalysts and reactors for converting waste and carbon dioxide into jet fuel and diesel.
She holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cape Town (under Prof. Eric van Steen) and is motivated by the role catalysis can play in enabling more sustainable chemical processes. Chelsea has received several honors, including the L’Oréal For Women in Science Award, Falling Walls Emerging Talents Top 10, and a team nomination for the IChemE Energy Award. She values collaboration between academia and industry and is glad to contribute to the Dutch catalysis community through VIRAN.
Chelsea Lyn Tucker represents Dow Benelux.
